420

I almost forgot, it's April 20th! The day when everybody celebrates marijuana! Hooray for marijuana, and happy 420!

Did you know that the origin of the number 420 being associated with pot comes from a story by H.P. Lovecraft? In Within The Walls of Eryx, he wrote:

"My route must have been far from straight, for it seemed hours before I was free of the mirage-plant's pervasive influence... When I did get wholly clear I looked at my watch and was astonished to find that the time was only 4:20".

It's true. Check Wikipedia.

P.S. The picture to the right comes from here. It teaches kids how to grow your own pot. Remember to ask an adult for help!

I thought dope was for dopes? That's what my elementary school teacher told me. Plus doesn't it make you get the munchies? Munchies = more food = me fatter = no.

4:20 = teatime. That's what I always heard. Wikipedia is a bunch of opinions. You can edit entries.

What's wrong with being a dope? And pot speeds up your metabolism and causes you to lose weight. My grade 2 teacher taught me that.

Butchie: You're right. I made up that Lovecraft stuff and put it in Wikipedia myself.

Wikipedia isn't exactly reliable, but I'll take your word for it.

how could you forget about 420? you're a psychology grad student. isn't that like... your only reason for living? haha. i am going to email you now so you should ch-ch-ch-check it out if you can manage with your brain being so drug-adled and all.

Hint: Never take my word for anything. At least not when I write it here. I tend to be an asshole and lie. (Not in this case though...it's a valid theory).

I managed, Sarah. I actually didn't even celebrate 420 this year, which is sad. I guess I have no reason to live now.

I can't believe CFNY (oops, I'm sorry: "edge 102") has a show about 420.

We're not The Netherlands yet, people!

No, we're still stuck just behind the Netherlands. Maybe one day we can catch up though!
