I found this fun article about recent research on procrastination.
I think a good suggestion there is that you should do whatever you're supposed to do for 10 minutes, even if you really don't wanna do it. By the time you've been doing it for a while, it will be much easier to keep going and get it done.
I am being quite ironic here, because I am posting this link on my blog in order to procrastinate from writing my thesis. It's gotta be done pretty soon, but it's hard to get going on it with the internet provding so many delicious distractions. Damn, you Internet! I got some done yesterday, though. I've almost got an Intro, Method, and Results...all that's left is the Discussion, where I need to explain what my results actually mean. If anything.
OK, 10 minutes. I can do it.

delicious distractions like small bent dildos... I mean, erm... pictures of them. Also the fact that there are a lot of idiots blogging about homos that you have to embarass and prove wrong. That must take up a lot of your time. Haha, and your xbox is more demanding than a woman! Geebus, that thing is high maintenance, eh? Thanks for the inspiration for someone who is in the same thesis boat and procrastinating by blogging and posting on other blogs... hmph. just ten minutes...
I actually put off going to the gym one day and instead went to Chapters and bought Procrastination for Dummies.
Also found this.
Dang ol' intranet, doesn't care how much it slows productivity.
I'll read it later
I get a lot of the less important things done that I procrastinated about doing earlier when something more pressing comes along for me to procrastinate about instead. :)
Oh. and thanks Jason, I am seriously going to try that.
Yeah thanks Jason. That 43 Folders sight is pretty cool. I might try some of the stuff on there, someday.
Hi Phronk. I like your new profile pic.
I am a HUGE procrastinator, but don't tell my students. I am always lecturing them against waiting until an hour before a test over a novel to read the novel! If they only knew....
:)
Have a good day!
Jennifer
