A few important things:
- Phronk.com is a real web site now! All the URLs around here now start with "phronk.com" rather than "phronko.blogspot.com", which never really made sense, and nobody took me seriously, and I cried about it a lot. NO MORE.
- However, this has caused a bunch of comments to be lost. I guess this is a known issue and hopefully not permanent.
- There's a new header image. I wish I had more time to work on it, but it's fine for now I guess. And it's not huge any more, so the blog should load faster if you're on dialup.
- I wandered into a different grocery store than my usual one a few days ago. I saw something called "frozen cassava" in the freezer, and I had no idea what cassava was, so I bought it.
- It is cheap enough that I could probably eat it exclusively for a few weeks, in order to save money.
- This is cassava:

- It looks kinda like a hairy ... let's say ... finger.
- When I researched the vegetable, this is what Wikipedia told me:
Konzo is an epidemic paralytic disease. The outbreaks are associated with several weeks of almost exclusive consumption of insufficiently processed bitter cassava.
- If you don't see me for a while, please call a doctor, and tell her that I am paralyzed in my apartment, sick with konzo.

alkfjasdlkf is this working?
Just because you asked, and because you eat scary hairy looking things so that the rest of us don't have to.
Hi. I don't think it 's working.
Definitely true, you shouldn't put hairy .....fingers in your mouth unless you know what diseases they cause...
That is the most disgusting....uhhhh vegetable?... That I have ever seen :/
Love all the new stuffs! This better work or else Ima punch your blog in the face ;)
Comments seem to be working fine, and I fully expect to see you grinding up this hairy phallic object in your silver bullet and putting it in your coffee.
Do you cook this before eating it like a potato? Or is it more like jicama?
I like the "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" picture, btw. I have that book on my bedside table.
It seems to be working kind of! Dunno where all the old comments went though.
Eww Hey Lady! I don't grind with hairy phallic objects.
Never heard of a jicama (will have to look for those too), but I think you cook these. Less chance of konzo that way.
I'm gonna start a band and call it "Sick With Konzo". Your new official-looking website is nothing short of fucking inspirational.
New look is awesome! I'm so jealous that you are officially a "dot-com".
As for that disgustingly hairy, diseased looking thing, all I can say is that if they (you know who "they" are) ever get ahold of that photo I'm sure it's going to be used as part of a promoting abstinence program...I'm just sayin'
So, this is how the new blog will look permanently? It's sorta "vanilla" I must say. By looking at it I wouldn't know it wasn't a girl's blog, from the fancy spiraling iron staircase to the antique books. Even the "zombie" Elizabeth Bennett is debatable. BUT it does look better then mine, so I shouldn't really talk.
Jicama is a vegetable that is very popular in California with vegetarians. It's good though, you'll probably like it. My roommate recommends adding lemon juice and cayenne pepper.
Kat: That's so nice of you!
Sick With Konzo is already my favourite band.
FCF: Haha ew. Switching from Blogger to a real dot-com wasn't too expensive or difficult (except for screwing up a lot and continuing to screw up, but hopefully it'll fix itself). If you want advice on how to do it just email me!
Hey Lady! I'm fine with vanilla. I only have two goals: 1) Having a recognizable look when you first load the site; 2) After that, being able to read the content without hurting your eyes. I hope this does that. And if feminine is synonymous with beautiful, I'm fine with that too. :)
Mmm, I'll pick up jicama if I ever see it.
About the jicama, if you know of any Mexican-centric stores, get yourself a jar of Tojo spice. I think I'm spelling it wrong but after you douse it with lemon juice, slather that crap on it.
PS: your page loaded so fast my eyes got digital cuts.
Looks like casava is more harmful than the H1N1 shot.
deeeeericious...
I like the new header. Very nice :)
So... when's the blog post on dipping cassava in coffee? :)
Oh... and congrats on the domain name! Blog's all grown up now!
