Thanks for a really fair, balanced review. I agree with you in the main, and certainly am not overly-carried away by the book. I think you're right about some scenes being anti-climactic too; in general I didn't think the games were particularly well written, and I enjoyed the build-up much more.

Huh, I liked the Hunger Games far more than that (that being the disposable book category). I won't say the writing blew me away, but I didn't notice the harsh transition in language, and found that my imagination did a stellar job of off screen action. I'm gonna watch the movie, too. :)

You could always strip the drm off.... Oh, did I just say that? I would NEVER do that.

Also, sometimes the typos are only on the e-book version. Sometimes whatever they use to convert the books messes with some of the text. It's likely the actual book does not have the typos.
